IBERIAN HAM AND HEALTH

Montellano Acorn-fed, Countryside Fodder-fed and Fodder-fed Iberian hams are not only delicious but very nutritious too: rich in B-family vitamins (Bl, B2 and particularly niacin B3) and in proteins (50% higher than in fresh meat), they also contain iron, magnesium, zinc, calcium and phosphor.

lberian ham’s fat is rich in unsaturated acid fats particularly oleic acid that increases HDL concentration (the so-called “good cholesterol"), and thus it is a product that benefits everyone. (Acorn-fed Iberian ham has a higher level of oleic acid than the Countryside Fodder-fed one, which in turns have a higher level than the Fodder-fed one).

The key to ham´s organoleptic qualities is the acorn, rich in carbohydrates and fats and the pastures, stubble, wild legumes and grass seeds rich in vitamin E.
